Dr. Ng and his wife Elizabeth established the ISOM (International Schools of Missions) and JSM (Jesus Saves Ministries) to reach the desperately poor people of the world with the gospel, and to teach them to serve God in reaching others. They currently have ISOM/JSM locations in Singapore, Malaysia, India, Ireland, Philippines and Brazil.
Singapore is an independent city-state in Southeast Asia, comprising one main island and 50 adjacent islands off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. Singapore is densely populated, and about three-fourths of the people are Chinese, but there are significant Malay and Indian minorities. Singapore became and independent nation in 1965. The total area of Singapore is only 250 square miles. Its wet tropical climate has no clearly defined seasons. The average annual temperature is 81° F and the average annual rainfall is 95”. Singapore has a population of 3,490,356, which is ethnically diverse. Chinese constitute about three-fourths of the population. The country’s four official languages are Chinese, English, Malay, and Tamil. Chinese is the primary language spoken in the majority of homes. English is widely spoken as a second language. The majority of Chinese Singaporeans follow Buddhism, although Daoism (Taoism), and more recently Christianity, are also popular. Malay Singaporeans are predominantly Muslim, while more than half the Indian Singaporeans profess Hinduism.
